If you've never tried
Do I need to be able to swim?
You don't need to swim well, you need to be comfortable in water. Both the vest and the board float: you stay up without doing anything. The instructor is always on the dock, watching you.
Will I manage on my first go?
Everyone gets up on the board during their first ten-minute session. There's a short lesson on land first, then you start from the water and the instructor sets the cable speed to suit you.
I'm not fit.
You don't need to be an athlete for your first rides. The classic first-day mistake is pulling with your arms. In fact, all you have to do is go with the pull of the rope and let it carry you — strength isn't the point.
I've never done snowboarding or surfing.
Doesn't matter. Wakeboarding is easier than both, because the cable helps you stand on the board: you don't have to find your own balance, you just let it pull you.
How long is a session?
Ten minutes, and they're all yours: only one rider is on the cable at a time, and every time you fall or drop the handle we bring it back and you start again from where you fell.
Before you come
What should I bring?
Swimwear and a towel. Board, helmet and vest are included in the try-out package; if the water is cool there are wetsuits at €5 a day.
Do I need to book?
On high-season weekends it's worth it, because only one rider is on the cable at a time and the queue grows. On weekdays in May, September and October booking is required: we only open if someone has booked.
How early should I get there?
Fifteen minutes before your slot, just enough time to change and pick up the gear.
Can I pay by card?
Yes, at the desk and online when you book.
Children and families
What's the minimum age for wakeboarding?
From 6 years old. For the youngest ones, for €10 more you can ask for a lesson lasting an extra 10 minutes with a federal instructor in the water, following them through their first starts.
Does anyone coming along have to pay?
Whoever comes along can stay on the beach or in our chill area for free, watching the whole line from the shore.
Is there anything for small children who aren't wakeboarding?
Yes, the trampoline (€2 for the day and free if you're wakeboarding). You can also hire SUPs, canoes and pedal boats. Alternatively, right next to our dock you'll find the beach with a lifeguard.
Do you run summer camps?
Yes, weekly from Monday to Friday for kids aged 8 to 15, in June and July.
Weather and season
What happens if it rains?
Rain is fine — the water is wet anyway! We only close for thunderstorms, for safety reasons.
And if it closes for a storm after I've booked?
Call us to check whether the park is staying open: if we close, your booking is cancelled. If you've already paid online it stays as credit to use when you come back, or you can ask for a refund.
Is the water cold?
The lake is small and shallow, so the water warms up quickly from May and stays very warm until the end of September. When it is cold, our hire shop is well stocked with wetsuits in every size.
When are you open?
From May to October. In high season, from 12 June to 10 September, every day from 9:00 to 21:00.
Membership and prices
Do I have to become a member to try?
No. The €25 try-out package exists for exactly that: gear hire, a lesson on land and a 10-minute session on the water. Membership only makes sense if you come back.
What does membership cost and what does it include?
€15 for the whole season, with accident insurance included. It gives you member prices, the packages and the season pass.
How much is a single ride?
€12 as a member. Without membership the first one is €25 with gear included, and every ride after that on the same day is €12.
Are there passes?
Yes: packages of 12, 20 or 40 rides, or the season pass, with unlimited rides Monday to Friday.
The place
Where exactly are you?
Via al Lago, 1 · 38096 Vallelaghi (TN), on the west shore of Lake Terlago, in Valle dei Laghi.
How far is it from Trento?
Nine kilometres, that's about 12 minutes by car.
Is there parking?
Yes, public and free, a few steps from the shore. Campervans use it regularly too.
Is there anywhere to eat?
A few steps from our dock there's the Wake Bar with a terrace over the lake: sandwiches, piadine, mini pizzas, draught beer and drinks. Every week there's live music or a DJ set.
Can I come just for the bar or the beach?
Of course, and plenty of people do. There's a wide beach with a well-kept lawn, and from June to September the «Safe Beaches» scheme is running: a lifeguard is on duty for assistance and rescue.
