If you've never tried
Do I need to be able to swim?
You don't need to swim well, you need to be comfortable in water. Vest and board both float: you stay up without doing anything. And an instructor is always on the dock, watching you.
Will I manage on my first go?
Almost everyone gets up on the board during their first ten-minute session. There's a short lesson on the dock first, then you start from the water and the instructor adjusts the cable speed to you.
Do I need to be fit?
No. Ten minutes is ten minutes, and the cable does most of the work. The classic first-day mistake is pulling with your arms instead of letting it pull you.
Do I need snowboard or surf experience?
Not at all. Wakeboarding is easier, because the cable holds you and you don't have to find your own balance.
How long is a session?
Ten minutes, and they're all yours: only one rider is on the cable at a time.
Before you come
What should I bring?
Swimwear and a towel. Board, helmet and vest are included in the try-out package; if the water is cool, wetsuits are €5 a day.
Do I need to book?
On high-season weekends it's wise, because only one person rides at a time and the queue builds up. On weekdays in May and October booking is required: we open only if someone has booked.
How early should I arrive?
About ten minutes before your slot, just enough time to change and pick up your gear.
Can I pay by card?
Yes, at the desk and online when you book.
Can I pay for the whole family?
Yes. If you're not members, one of you enters their details and pays for everyone: we issue a single receipt.
Children and families
What's the minimum age for wakeboarding?
Six years old. For the youngest, a certified instructor can go into the water and help them start, for €5 more.
Does anyone watching have to pay?
No. Watching from the shore is free, and you can see the whole line from the beach and the bar terrace.
Is there anything for younger children who aren't riding?
There's the water trampoline, €2 for the day and free if you're wakeboarding. Plus SUP, canoes, pedal boats and the beach with lifeguards.
Do you run summer camps?
Yes, weekly Monday to Friday for ages 8 to 15, in June and July. €160 a week, €120 from the second child.
Weather and season
What happens if it rains?
Rain is no problem — you're getting wet anyway. We only close for thunderstorms, for safety.
And if you close for a storm after I've booked?
The ride is credited back to you: you don't lose it and you don't need to call. If you paid online it stays as credit for your next visit.
Is the water cold?
It's a mountain lake: in June and September a wetsuit is worth it, in July and August almost never. We have wetsuits in every size.
When are you open?
May to October. In high season, from 12 June to 10 September, every day from 9am to 9pm.
Membership and prices
Do I need to be a member to try?
No. The €25 try-out package exists exactly for that: gear, insurance, a lesson on the dock and one session. Membership only makes sense if you come back.
What does membership cost and cover?
€15 for the whole season, accident insurance included. It unlocks member prices, packages and the season pass.
How much is a single ride?
€12 as a member. As a non-member the first is €25 with gear included, and every further ride on the same day is €12.
Are there season passes?
Yes: packages of 12, 20 or 40 rides, or the €500 season pass with unlimited rides Monday to Friday.
The place
Where exactly are you?
Via al Lago, 1 · 38096 Vallelaghi (TN), on the west shore of Lake Terlago, in the Valle dei Laghi, Trentino.
How far is it from Lake Garda?
Thirty kilometres from Riva del Garda, about forty minutes. From Trento it's nine kilometres, a quarter of an hour.
Is there parking?
Yes, public and free, a few steps from the shore. Campervans use it regularly.
Is there anywhere to eat?
There's the Lake Bar with a terrace over the water: sandwiches, piadine, pizzette, draught beer and drinks. Live music or a DJ set every week.
Can I come just for the bar or the beach?
Of course, and plenty of people do. The beach is part of the «Safe Beaches» scheme and has lifeguards in summer.
